Abstract
The Prayer for Rain in Sahifa Sajjadiya, as a spiritual and religious text, not only seeks rain and divine mercy but also encompasses deeper dimensions of the human relationship with nature and the environment. In today’s world, given the environmental challenges and climate crises, analyzing this prayer can contribute to a better understanding of human needs and the significance of rain in life and ecosystems. This study, based on a descriptive-analytical method and utilizing library sources, explores the spiritual and environmental dimensions of the Prayer for Rain and seeks to demonstrate how this prayer can serve as a source of inspiration for the preservation of the environment and water resources in the contemporary era. The findings indicate that Imam Sajjad’s prayer addresses environmental and spiritual issues with precision and practical relevance. The prayer clearly emphasizes the essential human need for rain and its effects on living beings, agriculture, food security, the economy, and environmental sustainability. Moreover, the spiritual aspects of the prayer—such as the role of angelic witnesses and the request for sustenance from the blessings of the heavens and the earth—reflect the fundamental influence of immaterial factors within nature.
