Scientific and Metaphysical Analysis of the Impact of Prayer on the Fulfillment of Desires: An Ontological Perspective
Abstract
Prayer is a form of worship mentioned in religious texts, with God assuming responsibility for its acceptance. However, the relationship between prayer and its fulfillment may not be immediately clear, leading to doubts about its effectiveness. Therefore, a thorough examination of the ontological connection between prayer and the realization of desires is essential. This study, focusing on ontological foundations, analyzes this relationship and seeks to address existing questions and uncertainties by clarifying the link between prayer and the fulfillment of desires. The required data is collected through library research and analyzed using scientific, rational, and traditional (scriptural) methods. The findings indicate that the impact of prayer on the realization of desires can be examined from both scientific and metaphysical perspectives. From a scientific standpoint, psychological studies show that prayer fosters positive emotions, inner peace, and a sense of psychological security, while also serving as a motivational force in achieving personal goals. From a metaphysical perspective, prayer is regarded as a connection between humans and the unseen world, which—through supernatural factors—facilitates the fulfillment of desires. Metaphysical elements such as the spiritual elevation of the soul, the intrinsic nature of prayer, and divine will contribute to the realization of these desires. Consequently, based on both scientific and metaphysical analyses, it becomes evident that prayer plays a role in the fulfillment of desires, and divine texts emphasize God’s commitment to answering prayers.
