Abstract
Image schemas are mental structures formed from our sensory experiences and interactions with the world. These structures represent complex concepts as simple and understandable images in our minds. Johnson and Lakoff's view of image schemas is based on the understanding of broad abstract and cognitive concepts rooted in human physical experiences. Manajat Khums Ashar is a collection of fifteen supplications by Imam Sajjad (AS), which, while rich in divine and intellectual knowledge, is also characterized by rhetoric and eloquence. The language structures, including visual schemas, play an important role in conveying deep and significant cognitive concepts. This research, based on the descriptive-analytical method, aims to investigate the types of visual schemas and their role in understanding and interpreting the prayers of Khums Ashar, as well as explaining how these schemas contribute to a deeper understanding of the mystical concepts within these prayers. The results of this research show that various types of visual schemas play an important role in understanding and interpreting the Khums Ashar prayers. Among them, movement schemas, which occur with the highest frequency compared to other schemas, emphasize the importance of knowing the origin, path, and destination of man and the journey towards perfection. The power schemas involve types of blocking and fixing, highlighting that there is no stopping when dealing with obstacles; thus, a supplicant, seeking help from God, always strives to remove the obstacles placed in their path.
