Investigating the allegation of the occurrence of bada in response to the prayer of Hazrat Zakaria 

Abstract

One of the issues of belief related to Bada', which Shi'a theologians have discussed and examined, is the doubts surrounding the way of answering supplication and how Bada' relates to it. What is the first issue, and what does it have to do with the answer to prayer? Is there any evidence of the occurrence of Bada' in the Qur'an in answering supplication, and if such verses exist, how can these verses be argued to prove the occurrence of Bada'? Verses that have been argued by the Qa'a'in to [relate to] Bada' are the verses concerning the birth and martyrdom of Prophet Yahya (AS), and the claim that Bada' took place in the following verse. The present research aims to explain and analyze the aspect of Bada' in the mentioned verses using a descriptive-analytical method. Based on the resources available in libraries and related software, after analyzing the views of supporters and opponents of the Bada'i interpretation of these verses, [the research] does not consider citing this story as evidence to prove Bada'.
