A research on wrong prayer and justification of Imam Javad's statement that incorrect prayer does not go up
Fardin Jamshidi Mehr[1]
Abstract
The main issue of this research is the situational and formative effect of words in the system of existence, focusing on the problem of answering incorrect prayers. Incorrect prayer is a prayer that is said with wrong words and incorrect pronunciation. According to a narration from Imam Javad, peace be upon him, such a prayer does not go up. The main finding of this research - which was written in the form of library and documentary research and in the method of rational and logical analysis of data - is that the answer to prayer is the result of the human soul, which is effective in the system of existence by God's permission. A soul that is connected to the origin of existence by expressing poverty, benefits from the power of that origin in influencing various matters. Since the truth of the soul is connected to the divine power, all the works and manifestations of the soul of the supplicant are effective in the manifestation of the divine power in it, such as words, the state of submission, crying or pretending to cry; just as the gathering of supplicants and repetition of prayer also increases the emergence of this power. Words and things like the right time, honorable place, etc. have a preparing effect on the soul: that is, they prepare the soul to influence the system of existence, rather than the words being the active cause of answering the prayer; therefore, incorrect prayer cannot prevent prayer from being answered. In this research, some of the justifications that have been presented for Imam Javad's statement have been discussed and their weaknesses have been explained.
