Hossein Gorjipour[1]
Abstract
Managerial skills are one of the key factors for enhancing the competence and efficiency of managers. In the present study, with the aim of answering the question, 'What are the managerial skills from the perspective of religious resources?' the Supplication of Makarim al-Akhlaq, encompassing various ethical and human principles, has been examined for inference and alignment with managerial skills. The research, in terms of its applied goal, exploratory nature, and approach, is qualitative. Using content analysis, in the first step, 79 basic themes were identified by reading the Supplication of Makarim al-Akhlaq line by line. In the next step, exploratory themes, after combination and summarization, became systematically organized into organizing themes, and ultimately, in the form of categorized groups, were introduced and explained under the titles of managerial skills. The findings of the research indicate that managers in individual, group, and administrative domains require skills for their success and improvement of their performance and the organization. Individual skills, referred to as "spiritual skills," signify some ethical requirements in individuals. Group skills, referred to as "communication skills," highlight managers' abilities for constructive communications. Administrative skills, known as "organizational skills," focus on managers' attention and concentration in performing the main functions of the management domain in the organization. The research results suggest that spiritual, communication, and organizational skills assist managers in various work environments to have better performance and lead to the improvement of managers' ethical behaviors and decisions.
